    your barber could have done a better job to match your example picture. with the hair pushed forward and lined like on your example, your hair could have achieved a much similar look than you received. you’re styling it completely different and the length on top is completely different. even the fade is different. i have basically the same cut and the way you style it is extremely important. blow dry straight, use a paste throughout, and a powder to finish with texture.

    I think my problem is that I'm going for such a unique haircut and it is SO distinctive that it's taken me literally YEARS to perfect it, and it's still evolving. I'm basing my cut on a cut Gerard Way of My Chemical Romance had in 2011, and it's very unique and I'm still in the process of growing the bangs out and have been doing that for a year.

    The cuts are totally different. The picture you showed it a textured crop and almost a faux hawk. The cut you got retained too much squareness and weight in the parietal ridge. He also didn’t crop the hairline at all. It’s not your hairline to blame. You didn’t get the cut in the pic at all tbh. BUT the cut you DID get is clean!

    Hey man. I used to have thick hair when I have a side part hairstyle. But when I changed it to middle part 3 months ago, I noticed that I'm having significant hair loss when I shower and my hair is now noticeably thinner. Could this be just temporary while my hair is adjusting to the hairstyle?

    100% just a bad haircut. You didn't get what you wanted — even close. That means it was bad.It isn't some "thin hair vs thick hair non attainable goal". We have the same hair and I could easily get that textured layered short no fringe look. That's just a bad hair stylist — we've all been there and that's why I mostly cut my own hair. If I screw it up, no one else to blame but myself and it's free. Funnily enough — I'm good enough now to the point where I often get compliments when I do it myself, but when I pay people to do it, the job comes out different from what I want and the compliments disappear.

    The guy in the reference is more of an extremely short type of crop with a line up on the fringe, what you got was a textured quiff. They are two completely dirrent styles

    For me the difference between both hair Styles is that yours is upwards in the front and his look like was laying forward and they lined it up and then they try to put it up and that's why it looks like it's going a little bit more towards the front
