For a bold look that actually works, try patent leather tuxedo shoes with indigo or black jeans.

Antonio: any thoughts on Monk straps and Jeans. They may bridge the gap between a suit and jeans. Thought?

I don't know when did this set up started. But, back in since school I actually pulled this off. Blue short sleeve semi fit polo, matched with denim pants and dress shoes. They were doubtful when they heard my match up. But dang, they found it nice. Thinking about it now, still wows me that I pulled that off, during that time.

JEANS MAYBE HEMMED BUT NEVER CUFFED, W0hy because you look like you just came from the country. Not is it inappropriate, youlok like a little Boy instead of a grown Man. Oviously you have no sense of style or originality when you do that.

You can wear any dress shoe with jeans except those boot style or buckle shoes as long as the Jean are long enough and are quality jeans no hole or avid washing.

For all the people hating on his dress choice…Alpha's set trends….Beta's worry about what people think!!! Carry on!!

I wear Balmorals with designer jeans all the time and it works just as good as any other really, that was a very subjective assessment …it's less about the style of shoe and more about two things , one you mentioned : color coordination with the pants but TWO is more important , it is style of jeans. If you try to wear Oxfords with a pair of LEE's …sorry there's no saving you. However, if you pick up a pair of designer jeans …thin material, designed on a slim cut…they are made for wearing with even Oxfords because they are built to wear with formal accessories…. like a Blazer and shoes. In fact , given the straight, slim and skinny options that many designer jeans come in the ideal fit would be slim …they will give the slender fit that goes well and sits properly on the dress shoes in a way that looks clownish with straight cut jeans and looks freakish with skinny cut jeans.

I'm a big guy my everyday look is jeans, casual dress shirt, sport coat, Allen Edmonds strands/wingtips, crazy socks. I was thinking about getting bright orange swims so I can retire my waterproof rockports on a rainy day. Should galoshes try to blend in or embrace that they are ugly?

But what about black colour on less formal shoes like doublemonks, loafers or derby. I hear its not good because its "formality" colour and better options is brown or burgundy. But i think black its work so good with jeans, and don't change the formality of casual shoe.

I think that bright Oxfords with broggings may be paired with jeans…

  19. Tim Kramar

Don't. Dress shoes are for dressier clothes. Find a pair of casual shows or gym shoes. Wear them with boots. Wing tips and jeans just look wrong.
