I wish I could talk to you directly because everything you have mentioned in this video is so similar to my situation. Sis; all I can say to you is that everyone that had something negative to say to you about your hair will truly truly be eating humble pie when your hair starts to mature. Please take my foolish advice and stick this out you will not regret your decision please please please ???????? trust me!…I had my sisterlocks installed on my birthday of October 2017, and some of my friends in the office was so negative when they saw it a couple of days afterwards and told me I waisted my money (because I believe the locticians charged based on the length of your hair). Anyway my colleagues where geering me saying all sorts of things like "It's a lie! How could anyone pay someone to do something like that to your hair?' But believe me almost two years on my hair journey I get Men and women stopping me DAILY!! Shop assistants, all walks of life telling me how AMAZING my hair looks to the point that I'm giving out my loctician's number on a daily basis. I've had to apologise to my loctician and tell her you may have random people calling you because I always get stopped and people ask for her number.Sis my last piece of advice to you is PATIENCE… I cannot stress to you how important that is because it wont happen overnight it is a gradual process but ☝????a process you will truly truly appreciate. Ooh and one more advice; less is more. Who ever created that impression knew what they were talking about , all you need to maintain your hair is Rosewater and vitamin E oil that's it ☝???? nothing more nothing less. I've subscribed because I want to see your journey. All the best ????

Your locs are beautiful. Continue to embrace your journey and grow! Question, did your consultant show you pics of her work on other clients? And does she style?

  3. Simplelovelife

What size are your locks? Your hair looks beautiful! My installation/ establishment is tomorrow.

I’m from a very conservative Nigerian family and I got a lot of negative vibes from people. I didn’t tell anyone the cost because I didn’t want any opinions. Now, the same people who criticised 2 years ago, are getting their own sisterlocks installed. I laugh.

  5. Cynthia Yeldell

I made the mistake of telling my coworkers how much I paid for daughter and I retightening. Never again.

  6. ThePreciousfab

It doesn't matter much what others think, but it will take a while for some folks like your aunt to get it and perhaps others. In the beginning it looks thinner and then fills out. It's beautiful nonetheless!

  7. Tiffany Gaither

I love your hair. Whoever doesn't shouldn't matter. If you like/ love it that's all that matters. I also stopped telling people how much I paid they always had something to say about what they could have paid with that amount. Rock your locs they are beautiful!

  8. Ashley Petty

Your locs are beautiful! So imagine how gorgeous they will look when they mature. Well worth the investment! I got my sister locs installed 6/13-14. No buyers remorse here! Loving your channel! New subscriber!

  9. Doing It Our Way

Yayyy! I got mine done on the 6th and 7th. Washed my hair for the first time on the 18th.

Your locks are beautiful! Always remember that everyone won't celebrate your decisions; but, guess what? They're YOUR decisions and as long as you're happy with them, that's all that matters. This journey is about you, your hair, and your progress. Enjoy your journey. Looking forward to mine…

Your locs are gorgeous.???? Hopefully that itching will stop after a while as the scalp detoxes itself.

I LOVE YOUR HAIR AND COLOR! It's beautiful!! I just got my test locks on this past Thursday, and will start my new JOURNEY (YESSSS, I'M EXCITED) IN August!!

  13. trecey920

its gone always be somebody to think negative. I'm glad you're excited and happy about your hair. Just think, the ones talking negatively will be the ones all up in your head a few months from now!. Your grid is on point.

  14. Time Chaser

Unless you’re inviting opinions, they really don’t matter. Why people feel the need to tell black women how to wear our hair is lost on me.I’ve only had positive comments about my locs — I don’t think I’d of cared about anything else because it’s my headpiece!

  15. Brown Girl Reading

Your locs look beautiful!!! As for your aunt, who asked her anyway. I hate when family members feel the need to give their opinion on what they don't like. Sounds like you need to cut off zany conversation about your hair around your family. Be ready for more mess because surely your mother will tell your aunt how much you paid. When your hair starts growing long and strong she's going to eat her words?

I just got my sisterlocks at the end of April and I learned quickly who to share my journey with and who not to share it with. The funny thing is it's usually the people who have no business talking about anybody else's hair. I chalk it up as part of the journey and there's some things only the sisterlocks community will understand.Your hair looks great. Keep sharing your progress with us.

Your hair is beautiful by the way. I have experienced some negativity as well. One person told me "I Don't like them.. they are too small and look like they break easily" lol I was like "ummm okay"…. people always project their insecurities onto others…I just don't accept it….lol

  18. Shawnee Reed

Ayyyyye I got mine established on the 7th and the 8th…our babies are about the same age!!

I’m 3 months in and I must admit it was a bit of a confidence struggle, but it was one of the best decisions I’ve made. It’s about embracing your natural beauty and self confidence, a lot of women struggle that#BlackGirlMagic????????

  23. Simply Taneica Dionne

I love your hair and it looks great on you too. People will always have things to say but as long as you are happy with your decision that is all that matters.

  24. The Stovers

Gotta love people and their commentary that you didn't ask for ????. You are BEAUTIFUL, and you were before and after your locs. You're happy and that's all that matters. What you choose to do with your funds (and I find supporting other women owned businesses to be awesome) is your business. After my install I felt what my consultant went through was worth every red cent because only love will make you spend that kind of time helping another person do something that tedious ????.

  25. Sunshine1960 Blue

Your locs are beautiful! I wish I could afford to get mine done.

  26. IHeartHair89

it's your coin as long as you are happy with your hair that's all that matters

  29. Wakiinva04

Love your vibe ✨Thanks for spreading positivity…… & your hair is beautiful!

  30. Marcia M

Your hair looks beautiful. People will always give their unwanted and unsolicited opinions, as long as you're happy with your decision that's all that matters.

  31. journeymylocs

The same people that turn their nose up at you…are the same ones that will ask for your loctician later on…your sisterlocks are gorgeous and your grid is on point!!

  32. vanessa harris

  33. NeeNee 706

Girl….. I feel that it's sad how our own family have negative to say, but just hold on because as you go through your journey they will be eating all of them negative words they spoke. I love your locs. Enjoy your journey …????????

  34. NappyliciousTV

Girrrrrlllll. . . where do I begin? I had a feeling the Southern Ladies were gonna have the opinions that you shared. I'm sure you handled your aunt with as much respect and grace as you could while she was not considering YOUR feelings. I understand your reasoning for not sharing the cost because folks can always find their way into other folks' pockets. As you said, you don't need anyone approval or opinions, family or strangers. I am so annoyed cuz you know I understand. As long as you're happy, that's all that matters. And if you decide to comb them out tonight, that's your business. We all have this one life to live and must live it how WE see fit. People trip me out casting judgement on others as if THEY'VE lived life according to other people's expectations. . . and if they did, too bad for them. Anyhoo, thanks for sharing. Enjoy this new journey!

  35. Vangie Edomwonyi

Love your hair super cute. I paid 1500.00 for my sisterlocks October 2018. I had 15/16 inches of hair I had buyer remorse myself but love my hair. Still not always sure I also found my consulted on the sisterlock website. I don't have 400 locks I have about 390 ???? some in the middle are kinda medium????
