This is what the Quran actually says… Although we all know that spiritual struggle is important.. You can't say you don't have to cover your hair and chest . Hijab is a choice.. But you can't say the Quran does not talk about it.. Same way,, believing is a choice An-Nur 24:30قُل لِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَ يَغُضُّوا۟ مِنْ أَبْصَٰرِهِمْ وَيَحْفَظُوا۟ فُرُوجَهُمْۚ ذَٰلِكَ أَزْكَىٰ لَهُمْۗ إِنَّ ٱللَّهَ خَبِيرٌۢ بِمَا يَصْنَعُونَ Tell the believing men to reduce [some] of their vision and guard their private parts. That is purer for them. Indeed, Allah is Acquainted with what they do. 24:31وَقُل لِّلْمُؤْمِنَٰتِ يَغْضُضْنَ مِنْ أَبْصَٰرِهِنَّ وَيَحْفَظْنَ فُرُوجَهُنَّ وَلَا يُبْدِينَ زِينَتَهُنَّ إِلَّا مَا ظَهَرَ مِنْهَاۖ وَلْيَضْرِبْنَ بِخُمُرِهِنَّ عَلَىٰ جُيُوبِهِنَّۖ وَلَا يُبْدِينَ زِينَتَهُنَّ إِلَّا لِبُعُولَتِهِنَّ أَوْ ءَابَآئِهِنَّ أَوْ ءَابَآءِ بُعُولَتِهِنَّ أَوْ أَبْنَآئِهِنَّ أَوْ أَبْنَآءِ بُعُولَتِهِنَّ أَوْ إِخْوَٰنِهِنَّ أَوْ بَنِىٓ إِخْوَٰنِهِنَّ أَوْ بَنِىٓ أَخَوَٰتِهِنَّ أَوْ نِسَآئِهِنَّ أَوْ مَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَٰنُهُنَّ أَوِ ٱلتَّٰبِعِينَ غَيْرِ أُو۟لِى ٱلْإِرْبَةِ مِنَ ٱلرِّجَالِ أَوِ ٱلطِّفْلِ ٱلَّذِينَ لَمْ يَظْهَرُوا۟ عَلَىٰ عَوْرَٰتِ ٱلنِّسَآءِۖ وَلَا يَضْرِبْنَ بِأَرْجُلِهِنَّ لِيُعْلَمَ مَا يُخْفِينَ مِن زِينَتِهِنَّۚ وَتُوبُوٓا۟ إِلَى ٱللَّهِ جَمِيعًا أَيُّهَ ٱلْمُؤْمِنُونَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُونَ And tell the believing women to reduce [some] of their vision and guard their private parts and not expose their adornment except that which [necessarily] appears thereof and to wrap [a portion of] their headcovers over their chests and not expose their adornment except to their husbands, their fathers, their husbands' fathers, their sons, their husbands' sons, their brothers, their brothers' sons, their sisters' sons, their women, that which their right hands possess, or those male attendants having no physical desire, or children who are not yet aware of the private aspects of women. And let them not stamp their feet to make known what they conceal of their adornment. And turn to Allah in repentance, all of you, O believers, that you might succeed.

These are all misinterprets.. In islam man and woman both have specific dress code.. You can't breach it when u are outside or without your Mahram (Whom you can't marry).. . women have to cover their hair and put on Extra garments in their chest. . Which clearly indicates hijab… You can't deny hijab…
quran is not a book for a small period. it is for the whole humanity till the end of the world.. All you point out from quran translated wrong .. lack of knowledge takes you to a wrong conclusion . Islam gives importance to women than men .. Hope you study and correct your thoughts about quran and islam .. check every holly books example in bible a women who show up her hair outside have punishable shaving her whole hair ..in chapter no 11 v no 5 to 6 .. bible is more strict than quran in case of hijab .. quran established hijab for men first. men also cant showoff that prohibited part of his body . If you are a muslim both men and women must obay the rules from allah .A true muslim or believer dont think that is a barrier to freedom we beleive it is the freedom..Learn quran sister
This makes me angry. I don't want to be angry at muslims. I know the church has messed up too. Wish we could figure out a non violent solution but there probably isn't one however in my head . When i go to sleep we all love and respect each other

My dad made a joke one time that "it's Ramadan, Muslim girls are wearing hajabs, and your going to a pride parade." I thought I was a bad Muslim, but this showed me that I have a right to express myself, and shouldn't conform myself to men.
Don't bother reading the comments, all you're gonna see is a bunch of women who became modern slaves to the Western clothing standards defending their way of dressing and rejecting some hard evidence, also claiming that all men are bad for some reason, lol.
This lady is a great speaker, but knows nothing about the Quran, can't even read it (Arabic)! Yet she wants to tell everyone what the Quran says!!? The only reason people are listening to her is because she's telling them what they like to hear!

The religion of Islam is making woman modest because we need to protect us. The scarf was used as a show of wealth and popularity. Then women who were not as covered would be considered poor. The profit thought this was not fair and that all women should be treated the same. So he enforced that women in Islam should cover up. It was made to protect. People keep saying the men should change but you can change a person so easily. I don't think Allah the merciful can force someone to be something but he can at least protect people from these bad people. As a Muslim girl people ask me this and I tell them that this is modesty and if you don't want it then sucks. Your not the one having to do this so don't say anything so to all those people that say Islam is sexist…????. In the end u can't change a person but u can change something to protect someone.

Religions are not to adapt nor to update.. religions are to respect, religions are either to adopt or to ignore. So we should cultivate tolerance and respect of each other’s beliefs, but also decide to choose an identity, be proud of it and undertake it !

One of the greatest Muslim Poet Dr Allama Muhammad Iqbal once said, Only if I didn't knew Allah has written the Quran himself, I must have thought it is written by a woman. This single statement is enough to know how much a Woman is important in Islam, These kind of liberal scholars on the other hand is a total negative impact of the place women hold in Islam.
